RDO is a registered, non-profit, non-governmental, women-led organization established in 1999. For over two decades, we have been committed to uplifting socially, economically, and educationally disadvantaged communities. Based in the Pudukkottai district of Tamil Nadu, India, our organization works tirelessly to create opportunities for vulnerable children, women, and marginalized communities.

About Our Region

The Pudukkottai district, carved out of the former Tiruchirappalli district, is a semi-arid region with limited natural resources and inadequate surface water. Employment opportunities are scarce, and poverty remains a significant challenge. In response, RDO works at the grassroots level to promote sustainable development and social justice. Our Administration Office is located in Arimalam, just 16 km from Pudukkottai City, and we also maintain a branch office within Pudukkottai City.

Our Focus Areas

• Education for All: Ensuring access to quality education for children and youth from underprivileged backgrounds.
• Women Empowerment: Strengthening women through leadership development, self-help groups, skill training, and entrepreneurship support.
• Sustainable Livelihoods: Promoting income-generating activities and improving access to sustainable employment opportunities.
• Human Rights & Social Justice: Advocating for the rights of marginalized communities, including women, children, minorities, and socially discriminated groups.
• Community Development: Building resilient communities through awareness programs, capacity building, and collaborative partnerships.
• De-Addiction Awareness: Conducting drug prevention awareness campaigns among students and the general public.
